Biodegradable Dish Detergents Whether using a dishwasher or washing by hand, the most important consideration in choosing a dish detergent is biodegradability. If a product is truly biodegradable, it will break down into carbon dioxide, basic minerals, and water. And of course, whenever possible, our products come in containers made from recycled materials and are sold in bulk to reduce packaging.
Dishwashing liquid without phospahtes is good, but phosphates are surfactants, and without surfactants, food tends to adhere to your dishes. Look for our products with naturally derived surfactants to help clean the grimiest dishes the natural way. If your someone who rinses your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, a biodegradable dish detergent without surfactant should do, but if you like to put them in covered with food, we recommend a product with surfactants.
